Viele Menschen haben Angst vor Spinnen. Many people are afraid of spiders.
Yet most spiders are completely harmless to us.
Spiders are not insects, because they have eight legs, not six.
With their webs, they catch flies, mosquitoes and other small animals.
They make the thread for the web themselves.
Spider silk is very light and still very strong.
Without spiders, there would be many more insects in the world.
