Kimchi is a food that Koreans eat almost every day.

Cabbage is mixed with chili powder, garlic and salted seafood and left to ferment.

Before winter comes, family and neighbors gather and make a lot of kimchi; this is called kimjang.

Kimjang is hard work, but it is also a fun time of helping each other and talking.

In 2013, kimjang culture became part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

These days, there are kimchi refrigerators, so kimchi can be kept for a long time.
